ALL Mommies are working Mommies. These recipes are meant for mommies and daddies who work hard all day be it in an office or at home.
I wish I could be a crunchy all-natural mommy who makes her own baby food, but I am a realist and there is only so much I can do. I try to always have as many whole foods as possible, organic when possible - but we do what we can to just get dinner on the table within budget.
None of these recipes are earth-shattering, I'm not going on to host a cooking show, by any means. But my hopes are just that when you may feel stuck in a rut you can look here and think, "Oh, yeah. I haven't tried that in a while, that will be new."
Favorite sources include Food Network, Food Network Magazine, Food Network "Quick Easy Meals" Cookbook, Rachel Ray Magazine, Martha Stewart Everyday Cooking Magazine, my Mom.
I also try to take into consideration the amount of dishes that will need to be washed. I love dinners that can be made in one pot/pan. We live in an older house with no disposal or dishwasher, so things like this are in the forefront of my mind.
Most of these recipes will be for the mom/dad and any adventurous kids - we usually try to give our baby a taste of what we are having in order to create well-rounded taste buds, but she tends to exist on Food in a pouch, bananas, Annie's bunny crackers and pasta.
My husband will eat a LOT and every meal must have meat, so most of these recipes should give you leftovers to take as lunch the next day, but no promises if your husband eats like mine.
I work hard and I'm sure you do, too - I recommend most meals should be accompanied by a glass of wine or cocktail of your choosing.
